We have been producing the very best original quality hoods for over 30 years and our ORIGINAL QUALITY hood for the Mazda MX5/ Miata/ Eunos are no exception, these are produced exactly as Mazda originally intended.
- Zipped plastic rear screen.
- All of the plastic reinforcements that are essential for a good, smooth looking fit are as original. Many other manufacturers save money by using thinner un-riveted poorly stitched reinforcements.
We have also added rain gutters above the side windows to help prevent water ingress. The price for this quality item is £185 for a black vinyl hood (tan and blue are also available but dispatch times will vary) including a 1 year guarantee, fitting instructions and rivets (price is subject to VAT and delivery charges).
We also supply and fit this quality item for £280 including VAT and a 1 year guarantee. We also offer a mobile fitting service within SE England and call out fees vary depending on your location.
We are happy to send you a swatch of the material that we use should you wish to compare the quality of our hoods to others that are on the market.
You are welcome to visit us at our workshop in Chessington Surrey (junction 9 on the M25) and see how we manufacture our hoods using our digital cutting machine. Our hoods are then hand finished by our highly skilled team.

Glass Window Hoods
Thursday, November 3rd, 2011
We have had a run of replacement hood supply & fits where the rear glass has broken. In nearly every case this has been caused by the owners leaving articles on the rear parcel shelf causing the glass rear window to shatter.
Most older model convertibles such as VW Golf, Ford Escort, Saab 900 Classic and Toyota Celica's had separate glass rear windows.
However, nowadays most rear glasses are bonded in to the hoods and a broken glass window means a complete hood replacement.
We can supply & fit a new replacement hood with a bonded glass rear window at a fraction of main dealers such as BMW, Mercedes, Saab, Porsche, Honda & Audi.

Waterproofing/Re-Colouring
Tuesday, May 24th, 2011
Here at Car Hood Warehouse our telephone sales staff get many enquiries about waterproofing or re-colouring of mohair hoods on their cabriolets and convertibles.
There are a few products advertised on the internet claiming to re-proof or restore the colour of mohair hoods. Our advice is always NOT to use any of these products as mis-application can virtually ruin the look of a mohair hood.
Indeed we have, this year alone, had to replace the hoods on a Porsche 996, Audi TT and BMW E46 (3 series) because of the use of these products. The truth is that a mohair hood even in just reasonable condition should never need "re-proofing" as it is almost impossible for waterr to pass through mohair material.
Some convertible car owners make the mistake of assuming that condensation forming overnight on the inside of their hood is a sign of their hood leaking through the material. The answer is to allow the inside of the car to dry thoroughly. This could be a long process if water has soaked into the carpets and floor soundproofing.
Most re-colouring methods usually leave the nice mohair hood looking like a poor quality vinyl and more often than not leave an owner needing to replace the hood.
If you are in any doubt about your hood or soft-top contact our sales staff at Car Hood Warehouse for help and further advice.

A day in the life of our mobile fitters
Monday, April 11th, 2011
One of our mobile fitters, Tyrone, went on a car hood fitting trek on Wednesday.
His first stop at 07:30am was in Southampton to fit a mohair hood with heated glass rear window to a Porsche Boxster, the customer was really pleased with the result as he no longer has to worry about the rear plastic window splitting or turning opaque.
Then it was off to Portsmouth to fit a VW Golf MK3 mohair hood, this particular soft top is manufactured in our workshop by our experienced staff. His last fit of the day was in Woking to fit a one piece hood to an MGTF at a total cost of £385 it was a real bargain for the customer.
Tyrone arrived home just in time for his dinner!

From Cadillacs to KAs
Wednesday, March 23rd, 2011
Today we completed the fitting of a new hood to this very large Cadillac Eldorado much to the delight of the owner.
We have been specialising in the fitting of replacement soft tops to American cars for over 30 years. In fact, we are one of the few hood fitting companies able to take on these older convertibles.
On the same day we also fitted a hood to a Ford Ka, and so in one day we fitted a hood to one of the largest convertibles and to one of the smallest!
So for the fitting of any soft top from a Cadillac to a KA it’s all in a days work at Car Hood Warehouse.
